My favorite PA mountain is hands down Elk Mountain. I am partial since it is my hometown mountain that I have skiing/snowboarding at since I could walk but I also worked there for years. Let's just talk about how great the conditions are there. Elk is the highest ski resort in PA and multiply times it has been voted best grooming and snow making on the east coast! Located in rural NEPA you avoid the crowds from NYC and Philly. If you are looking for somewhere close but don't have the time to drive all the way up north, I highly recommend Elk.
